About Humanity's Team  

A few years ago I had an idea to form a worldwide movement,
and call it Humanity's Team. Since that time over 10,000
have responded to this idea in a positive way, joining the
Team and working toward its goals.

I thought I would take just a moment today to review some of
my original thinking on HT, to allow those of you to whom
this is new to catch up -- and to remind those of you to
whom this is an old idea to catch the bug again

Humanity's Team was created as a non-profit worldwide
movement three years ago in response to the crisis I saw the
human race facing following the 9/11 tragedy.

I believe that we are still facing that Moment of
Crisis. "Moments," in evolutionary terms, can extend across
several years -- even decades. In that context, this is our
Moment of Crisis. I have attempted to define our current
evolutionary event, or crisis, in terms that will allow us
to better understand it -- and solve it.

The crisis humanity is facing is not a political crisis, it
is not an economic crisis, and it is not a military crisis --
 yet we continue to try to solve it with political,
economic, and military means. The crisis humanity faces
today is a spiritual crisis, and it can only be resolved by
spiritual means.

That is where we come in: Humanity's Team is a social-
spiritual movement of worldwide proportion that is growing
every day and gathering the strength and force that only
large numbers and massive energy can produce. Its global
activities are based on the messages in the Conversations
with God series of books.It seeks to change the world by
creating the space of possibility for a New Spirituality to
emerge upon the earth.

It proposes a spirituality that enlarges and enhances
humanity's current beliefs about God and about Life in a way
that could change forever how we live with each other,
bringing peace and harmony to our planet at last. The idea
behind this New Spirituality is to bring God back to life.
Right now it feels as if God is far away from life, as if
God has nothing to do with it.

The New Spirituality says that God is not separate from
anything -- and neither are we. Humanity's Team seeks to
bring God back to Life by placing spiritual messengers and
educators on the ground around the globe, working to create
study groups, formal classes, weekly gatherings, larger
special events, seminars and retreats focusing on another
way to understand and relate to God -- and thus, another way
to live life.

There is another way to experience God and ourselves and our
relationship to God and to each other, and when we begin to
learn more about that other way, when we begin to embrace
it, we will find ourselves quite naturally creating another
way to do politics, another way to do economics, another way
to do religion and education and social interactions of all
kinds -- a way that eliminates ruthless competition as a
means of surviving, violence as a means of control, killing
as a means of conflict resolution, and the empowerment of
the few through the disempowerment and oppression of the
many.

Life does not have to be this way. There IS another way. Yet
changing the way we experience God, Life, and each other
will take an increase in our awareness of Who and What God
is, who and what WE ARE, and what Life is truly all about.
It is the intention of Humanity's Team to elevate and expand
that awareness.

If you desire, as do I, for people everywhere to be able to
experience at last the peace and the harmony, the safety and
security, the abundance and the joy that has always been
life's greatest promise, you are now invited to actively
assist in producing that outcome. For those of us whose
lives have been deeply touched by Conversations with God,
the rapid dissemination of this and other material of the
New Spirituality is the place we choose to begin.

We know that putting the With God books -- and especially
the latest and most socially focused of these, The New
Revelations, Tomorrow's God and What God Wants -- into the
hands of as many people as possible can change the world,
because the With God books contain messages that offer
workable alternatives to humanity's most prevalent beliefs --
 beliefs that continue to create humanity's most persistent
problems.

We also know that we can do a great deal more than simply
share the message. The CwG books invite us all to inspire
the world by being the change we wish to see. And a new
booklet I have written -- BEING THE CHANGE: Ten Steps to
Becoming a Spiritual Helper -- offers specific action steps
allowing us to achieve these goals. It invites us to put our
spiritual truth into action by becoming Spiritual Helpers of
the first rank, ending our days sitting on the sidelines,
and now joining forces to create a newer world.

As New York columnist Jimmy Breslin said, the problem in the
world today is that "The civil are not organized, and the
organized are not civil." It is high time that people of
high purpose became highly organized.

I am talking here about organization on a worldwide basis to
produce a specific result. And the result I propose? Peace
on earth, goodwill to humans everywhere.

Yes, this has been proposed many times before. We've called
for it and we've prayed for it and we've put the sentiment
on our holiday greeting cards for generations. And still we
have failed to achieve it. And so, some may think that it is
impossible to achieve. Yet I'm on the side of Albert
Einstein, who observed, "If it's not impossible to do,
there's no point in attempting it."

Humanity's Team seeks to render the impossible possible, to
render the undoable doable, to make the unthinkable
thinkable, and to turn the unimaginable into the imaginable
once again. This is our calling, this is our purpose, this
is our gargantuan agenda. Yet that agenda is not bigger than
the human heart, and its size is a tiny speck compared to
the human soul.

The Soul of Humanity calls now to the heart and to the mind
of humanity: Is it time yet? Have we had enough yet?

Have we had enough of the arguing and the fighting and the
killing and the war? Have we had enough of the sadness and
the suffering and the turmoil and the fear?

Are we ready yet? Are we ready to look at why things are the
way they are, why this is the way they have always been, and
what it will take to change things?

The Soul of Humanity calls to us...Is it time yet? Are we
ready yet?

And the Soul of Humanity asks, If how the world now is is
not what any of us want, why is this what all of us have?

Then the Soul of Humanity cries out, Who is on Humanity's
Team?

And our answer is that we are.

And though we may be outnumbered, with those who oppose
humanity's grandest dream on every side, and those who block
us from our greatest vision on every horizon, and those who
stand in the way of our taking the highest road on every
path, we affirm that we will yet find our way.

We will find our way to peace on earth, goodwill to humans
everywhere. We will find our way because we will make our
way.

For what the world needs now is not a peacekeeping force,
but a peacemaking force. And that is what we intend to be.
We intend to help humanity help itself, to make peace at
last --peace in each human heart, and peace in the
collective experience of the lot of us.
